By Erica THE GOOD ONES ARE STILL OUT THERE
2020 has been tough in a lot of ways. It’s easy to go down a rabbit hole of doom in times like these, and it can be so much harder to recognize the good that still exists in the world. But it’s always out there, and you don’t always have to reach that far to find it. A recent news story surfaced about Scott, a terminally ill man in hospice in Kentucky. He wanted nothing more than to attend his son’s first football game of the season, but it was an away game and Scott’s nurse, Jerree, wasn’t optimistic
Days later, Jerree received a call that a local dentist was offering to fly Scott, his girlfriend, and Jerree herself to the away game to see his son play one final time. There was nothing to gain in these actions for either Jerree or the dentist, but they still went above and beyond to make sure a father and son could share one last incredibly special moment together. There are always those who find a way to think outside the box, go beyond themselves to help others, and collaborate on how to meet a need. At AZCOMP, we strive to always find a way to help our customers. When we’re up against a wall and feeling hopeless, that’s exactly when we inevitably have someone else on our team come up with a solution for our needs. We are at our best when we think about others and work as a team, and those moments together are what make our customers’ experiences with us phenomenal. So, when you look around and shake your head at the state of the world, try to remember the good that’s out there. It does still exist, sometimes in forms or places that you might not have considered looking at before.
about the 3 1/2 hours of driving time it would take to get there and back. For a hospice patient, a trip like that just isn’t advisable. But she was determined to help Scott achieve one of his final wishes. So she reached out to a local airport.
