RESTAUTANT OF THE YEAR - REGIONAL furneaux

WINNER

Restaurant category. This year the North East Coast gem, nestled in St Helens, also added the Best Fine Dining award to its resume, along with a runner-up place for Best International or Speciality Cuisine. Under the guidance of head chef and founder Stefan Codron, the French-inspired Furneaux continues to rate as one of the top regional restaurants in the country, and a must-visit experience when heading along the picturesque East Coast. “It is fantastic, but without all these guys here, it wouldn’t be possible. For us it is a great win, but also a great win for the East Coast and for St Helens,” Stefan said.

There isn’t much Furneaux hasn’t achieved or been recognised with in its six years of existence. State and National accolades have rolled through the door on a consistent basis, but every victory is more than deserved. For a third consecutive year – and fourth in the last five – Furneaux was judged Restaurant of the Year – Regional, as well as achieving a three-peat in the Best Stand-Alone

“We put hospitality in hospitality, and for us we do what we love. Are we ambitious? Yes, but the support is there.”

Furneaux will now be eyeing off a third straight Best Regional Restaurant title at the AHA Awards for Excellence later this month.
