Membership Update

Winter is finally over...

A reminder to all to log in to the members section of our website www.tha.asn.au as there is a new look with a section on our corporate partners and the offers they may have. Offers will change throughout the year, so keep checking in. We will be sending out the new Beverage Survey soon and you will find the last results in the member section of our website as well. Please take the time to fill this survey out as it’s an important tool for industry. We are again at the time of membership renewals and this year we have decided to transition to a direct debit model. We have implemented a software called GoCardless https://gocardless.com/en-au/ that will automatically debit your nominated bank account on the date of your renewal. For the first year, attached to your invoice will be a Go Cardless link that will direct you to a form to complete. It is a simple process and should only take two minutes. If you currently pay monthly or quarterly, or you would like to pay this way please contact Jordan on the details below. Remember our role as your member association is to take your challenges off your shoulders and provide solutions while you focus on your business!

The past few months have seen the membership team continuing our travels far and wide. While we are still conducting our membership survey, we are hearing the stories of venues regarding the winter period. It’s been tough. The idea of our survey is not only to get a better understanding of what’s happening but also for you, our members, to get a better understanding of us and what’s available or what you may have been missing out on. In mid-August, we held our annual accommodation dinner at Hotel Grand Chancellor Hobart, which was great to see over 80 people attend and network with other managers and owners from our accommodation sector. We had some fantastic insight into the new Ferries from TT-Line’s Bernard Dwyer and an update from Hobart Airport’s Norris Carter, who spoke about the current upgrade to the airport and the forecast capacity coming into the state. Big thanks to Ralph Freckleton and his team at the Hotel Grand Chancellor Hobart for helping with this event.

WELCOME NEW THA MEMBERS

Alimento - Swansea Marion Storm Cafe - Devonport The Nubeena Cafe - Nubeena Liverpool Kebabs - Hobart The Albert - Moonah The Foreshore - Burnie Lachlan Hotel - Ouse One North Terrace - Burnie 1808 Lounge Bar - Launceston Room for a Pony - Hobart

The PFD roadshow again took centre stage in early October and Tom McGinn and his team work really hard to bring the event life. Three regions in three days, Devonport, Launceston and Hobart, with over 50 different companies that all sell through PFD. It was great to catch up with a lot of our members who attended and in speaking to a lot of you, it sounds like you managed to grab a great deal by attending this expo.
