ART ON SHOW The Lakes ’ Visual Art students shone brightly at the Whittlesea Agricultural Society ’ s art competition on the theme “ Jobs in Agriculture. ” We ’ re absolutely delighted to announce that our students brought home four awards — a wonderful testament to their dedication, creativity, and old - fashioned hard work. Our selected students, whose artworks were judged by the competition ’ s art panel, proudly earned: 1st place in the category “ Best Exhibit by a Group .” This outstanding result was made possible thanks to the thoughtful and skillful work of: May Staples, Noah Bizimovski, Raina Reta, Raean Reta, William Thom, Aashna Gurung, Christina Tran, Phoenix Staas Hawkins, Ari Diver, and Rubi Armstrong.
But the celebrations don ’ t stop there!
2nd place in the 12 – 14 - year category went to Archer Paterson for his acrylic painting “ Simple Farm Life. ” 3rd place in the same category was awarded to Miriam Morris for her detailed pencil drawing of farm life — and, as the cherry on top, Miriam also received the judges ’ Overall Award for “ Best Artwork Depicting Careers in Agriculture .” A huge congratulations to all our talented young artists — you ’ ve done The Lakes proud!
