Before installing your lighting in your garden, it is advisable to draw up a cable plan. This can be done in four simple steps.

Several cables can be laid in the garden from the transformer. Two cable outlets are available for the HUB-50 and HUB-100, while the HUB-150 has three. You determine the routing of the cables based on the fixtures in your lighting plan. When drawing in the cables, keep the maximum cable lengths of 40m (14/2) and 80m (10/2) in mind.
A beautifully lit garden starts with a good cable and lighting plan. You use your lighting plan to first determine where the transformer is to be mounted, such as in a shed. You then create a plan for how the cables will run into the garden from the transformer and how they will be installed along the elements you want to illuminate.
Now that you have drawn the main cables, you canconsider branches and extension cords. The CC-2 cable connector makes it easy to make a branch from one of the main cables, so that all of the fixtures can be reached. The extension cords are used to provide power to fixtures that are difficult to reach with a main cable. All cables in your cable plan can end anywhere and do nothave to form a closed system.
You have now drawn up a detailed cable plan, including any branches and extension cords. It is important to check that the transformer and individual cables are not overloaded. To do so, add up all of the VA values of the fixtures to make sure the total is not higher than the VA value of your transformer. We also recommend dividing the voltage in your lighting plan as evenly as possible among the cables. Finally, check to make sure the maximum cable lengths have not been exceeded and you are good to go.
