kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus . . .” It will be necessary to fold this cross to tell this story of the Apostle Paul. I fold the right arm of the cross and the word is “HOME.” Paul had left the Jewish home city of Jeru salem, in order that he might invite the Gentiles to come to Christ, and have a HOME in heaven. When I fold the left arm of the cross the words “ ROME” giving us the name of the city where Paul was inviting sinners to come to Christ. So eager was Paul to see .sinners saved that he was willing to be a prisoner in Rome, in order that some could hear who otherwise would not. I will fold the top of the cross over the center, and the word is “ SOME.” We read, “ And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not” (Acts 28:24). What a joy it must have been to the Apostle Paul, there in the prison at Rome, to see some of the sinners come to the Saviour. We will again open the cross and let you see the word “ COME” to remind you that even Paul invited the unsaved to come to Christ for sal vation, so you are invited to COME to Christ today.

ed and believed not the gospel. Not only were their hearts hardened, but they spoke evil of the gospel Paul was preaching. Because of the hard ness of their hearts, Paul went away, and gave the gospel to others who had not yet refused. I have wondered what would have happened to these same people if Paul could have vis ited Ephesus when they were young. Doubtless some of them would have received Christ before their hearts were hardened. Boys and girls who have the gospel taught them while young should re ceive Christ before their hearts are hardened by sin and added years.

OBJECTS: Two plaster of Paris hearts and a screw driver. (Valentine candy- boxes can be used as forms for mold ing the hearts. One should be much smaller than the other. When mixing the plaster of Paris for the large heart, put in a small amount of lamp black. Before the small heart hardens, draw a cross on the face of it with the screw driver.) LESSON: The hearts which I have brought this morning are very much like the hearts of people today. One is much larger than the other, and re presents an older person. The large heart is black, suggesting that it has sinned more and longer than the small one. Not only does the small heart look cleaner than the large one, but if you look closely you will see that it has a cross in it. Let’s take this screw driver and see if we ean make a cross on the large heart. It is hard and refuses to be marked. People who do not hear the gospel of Christ while they are young are often like this hard heart, in that they refuse to receive Christ as Saviour. I placed the cross in the small heart before it hardened. Boys and girls should hear the gospel and receive Christ before their hearts are hardened. I am reminded of a story in Acts 19:8, 9, “And he [Paul] went nth the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God. But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them.” As he preached, many people harden

OBJECT: A cross cut from paper, as large as visibility requires. (Print the word “ GOME” on the cross, placing the “ C” in the middle of the cross- arm and the other letters beneath. Fold the right arm of the cross over the center and print the letter “ H” on it making the word “ HOME.” Fold the left arm over the center and print the letter “ R” making the word “ROME.” Fold the top of the upright down over the center and print the letter “ S” making the word “ SOME.” ) LESSON: We have a cross on which the word “ COME” is printed. This is a familiar word in the Bible. Christ and His followers were always inviting people to come to Him for salvation. Paul was constantly asking, people to come to the Saviour. Of him we read in Acts 28:23, “ And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the
