We kept the stock rear cross bar and cross member
Bob said it would be “sacrilegious” to install a non-Ford engine. He chose the new 340-horsepower Ford Boss 302 with GT-40 heads, and a Ford C-5 auto transmission turning a Ford 9" rear end.

To prep the frame for the new power plant and drive train, it was first necessary to remove some of the original structural parts at left.

Important: Before cutting and removing the front cross member, stabilize the front of the frame by bolting or welding on a support brace.
