As a young teenager helping my dad in his Ford restoration business, dad had me save all the original bolts and hardware coming off the old Fords. My duty was to wire brush and clean up every one of them. I thought at that time how foolish it was. Years later I came to realize he was teaching me Mr. Ford's hardware was very unique and the Ford Motor Company had a high standard and look of its own. A perfectly crowned high head with a flat bottom. Most were fine-threaded. To this day I observe many early Fords and notice the hardware. It really makes a difference in the final looks of your Ford to use the correct-looking bolts.
