This kit can add a lot of pizzazz to your ride. If you are in the process of a re-paint you have already figured out that sanding a hood with the handles and latch clips in place is as much fun as washing the cat. If you do sand all around the edges and do the rivets, your fingertips are going to be bloody. Then, after the hood is painted, you will find that a lot of detail has been lost due to primer and paint buildup. So...grind the rivets out and remove all that stuff. Sanding and painting is a lot easier now. Then re-install the handles and latches using our rivet head screws and lock nuts. The screws are stainless but you can paint them body color first and then install them (Another hint! If you order new handles and latches, the screws and lock nuts come with them plus new rubber bumpers for the latch clips – just sayin’.) Then stand back to admire your work and you’ll say “Boy, I’m glad I did it that way.”
