To determine the thickness you need, measure the width of glass and the width of the channel that glass will fit into. Then subtract the width of the glass from the width of the channel and divide that number by two. For the best results, the tape should be slightly larger than the gap.
Wipe a light coat of oil on the glass setting tape. This makes glass installation easier and when the oil dries it forms an adhesive bond and your glass is locked in place.
