VLJ’s recently-estab- lished DLRP provides pro bono services to NJ residents deal- ing with legal matters directly related to Sandy. Services in- clude free clinics in Monmouth, Ocean, and Hudson Counties; extended representation; and a statewide hotline. “We want to thank the Hur- ricane Sandy NJ Relief Fund for its generous support of our Disaster Legal Response Program,” said Karen Sacks, Esq. , founding executive di- rector of VLJ. “Their support and that of Merck, McCarter & English and the Robin Hood Foundation – as well as our more than 100 volunteer attor- neys – has made this program a reality.” “The need remains great in New Jersey,” added Sacks. “We continue to look for volunteer attorneys to accept direct refer- ral cases for full representation after VLJ has screened them for placement as well as attorneys to staff our free clinics.” n New Jersey First Lady Mary Pat Christie is pictured (on left) at a recent event held in Princeton, with Karen Robinson, Esq., coor- dinating attorney with VLJ.
