Year 3 Hindleap Warren
n After our excited departure from DCJS on Thursday morning, the bus was swaying to the fantastic singing of the songs from the Year 3 play! As we arrived at Hindleap Warren, we reached a real crescendo of ‘When I was one…’ with ad-lib lyrics getting us all the way to 10! Once disembarked, we were impressed by our bed making ninjas who tackled their duvet demons with stealth & quickly moved on to help their friends. The boys then set upon their brilliant plethora of activities including a very wet and muddy obstacle course, pond dipping (which inevitably ended up with some boys taking a dip!), nature walk and high rope pentagon. It was great to see the focus being on supporting one another with ending the final activity by putting hands on the shoulder of someone who had shown great bravery and resilience. It was touching to see many of the boys (and staff!) overcome their fears to tackle every opportunity with the support of their classes and peers. To end our first day, the boys thoroughly enjoyed roasting marshmallows on a campfire whilst treating our leaders to a rousing rendition of all the songs from our upcoming play- we certainly did Miss Wilcox proud! After a (very) early start to Friday the boys continued on with their range of activities before a well- deserved lunch and nap on the way home. Thanks go to the boys for being so truly fantastic on the trip, it was a delight to see their friendships and bonds go from strength to strength. And finally, to the brilliant Miss Rollins, Mrs Austin, Ms Gordon, Mrs Greenaway, Mr Donegan and Dr Griffiths for all their hard work on making the trip such a success.
