Fort Payne Police Report The following crime report was provided by the Fort Payne Police Department. All persons are presumed innocent until his or her guilt is established beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. June 14, 2024 Incidents • Theft of Property – Occurred at Wal-Mart, several miscellaneous items were taken, valued at $257.76 • Theft of Property – Occurred at 100 Grand Ave SW, $2,374.57 was removed from bank accounts No Accidents and Three Arrests • Krystal Dawn Cisco, age 33 of Collinsville, was arrested on Four Warrants for Outside Agency • Brannen Lee Tollison, age 18 of Collinsville, was arrested for Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor • Diego Matias, age 38 of Fort Payne, was arrested for DUI • Melissa Ann Smith, age 45 of Hokes Bluff, was arrested for DUI Two Accidents with No Injuries June 22, 2024 Incidents • Damaged Property – Occurred at 3915 Godfrey Ave NE, a door, bumper and headlight were damaged on a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado, valued at $3,000.00 •
Authorities arrested 13 individuals on drug related charges in June, which marked the midpoint of the year. “We are halfway through 2024 and so far, we have seized 6,714 grams of methamphetamine, 8,225 grams marijuana, 24 grams heroin, 7 grams cocaine, 36 grams synthetic marijuana, and 202 grams fentanyl,” commented DeKalb Sheriff Nick Welden. The first drug related arrest last month came on Thursday, June 6, when the Crossville Police Department responded to a domestic violence call to a residence on Highway 68. Upon arrival, Officers with Crossville made contact with Joseph Daniel Lee Hill (40 of Crossville). During the arrest, Hill was found in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Hill was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Domestic Violence 3rd. On Friday, June 7, DeKalb County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on I-59 finding the driver to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. James Shawn Reid (57 of Sylvania) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Also on June 7, Narcotics Agents conducted a search warrant at a residence around the I-59 Flea Market. During the search, around 17 grams of methamphetamine was located, as well as marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Hope Lynn Shafer (38 of Valley Head) was charged with Unlawful Possession with Intent to Distribute (controlled substance), Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. On June 12, Narcotics Agents, along with ADETF Region F executed a search warrant in the Dawson area finding 240 grams of methamphetamine, as well as drug paraphernalia. Juan Bernardo Campos-Infante (27 of Crossville) was charged with Trafficking in any Illegal Drug (x2) and 1 warrant for Failure to Appear. In a separate incident on June 12, Narcotics Agents, along with ADETF Region F and Criminal Investigation conducted a search warrant on County Road 386 in Kilpatrick finding a half pound of methamphetamine. Candy Suhey Hernandez (41 of Albertville) was charged with Trafficking in any Illegal Drug and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. On June 14, Henagar police officers responded to a call of someone passed out in a vehicle near Wright Road. After officers got Caleb Logan Sewell (32 of Chattanooga, TN) awake they found him to be in possession of marijuana, mushrooms and drug paraphernalia. Sewell was charged with Receiving Stolen Property 2nd, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd. On June 16, while processing Katy Michelle Landress (37 of Fort Payne) DeKalb County Corrections Officers found methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia in her property. Landress was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd. On June 17, an Officer with the Fyffe Police Department conducted a traffic stop on County Road 50 near County Road 446. Christy Dawn Garmon (46 of Crossville) was found to have active warrants with DCSO. During a search, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were found. Garmon was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance (x2), Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (x2) and 2 warrants for Failure to Appear. Also on June 17, Narcotics agents went to a residence on County Road 169. While there, agents found Isaac Blake Wright (24 of Higdon) to be in possession of Fentanyl. Wright was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. On June 24, DeKalb County Deputies went to a residence on County Road 50 to execute a warrant. During the arrest of Timothy Harold Hosch (53 of Grove Oak) marijuana and a marijuana plant were found in the residence. Hosch was charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 21st, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and 4 warrants for Failure to Appear. On June 27, Narcotics Agents conducted a traffic stop on County Road 155 finding methamphetamine within the vehicle. Marty Ritch Workman (53 of Bryant) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance (x2), Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (x2) and 1 warrant for Failure to Appear. James Stacey Workman (49 of Higdon) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. On June 28, Collinsville Police officers responded to a vehicle that had run into a ditch on Hwy 11, near County Road 851. During a search, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were found inside the vehicle. Daniel Nathan Gouse (46 of Fort Payne) was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Midyear Drug Numbers Reported By County Sheriff
• Marcus Laquon Maddox, age 28 of Collinsville, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and a Warrant for Outside Agency • David Andres Garcia, age 28 of Albertville, was arrested on a Warrant for Outside Agency at 4:49 pm June 15, 2024 Incidents • Damaged Property – Occurred at 1206 Gault Ave S, a fence was damaged, valued at $5,000.00 • Criminal Mischief – Occurred at 400 Gault Ave N, paint on a rear hatch on a 2017 Lincoln MKC was damaged, valued at $1,000.00 • Theft of Property – Occurred at Lowe’s 1600 Glenn Blvd SW, a DeWalt planer, ten bags of Quikrete, a Kreg panel carrier and a rake were taken, valued at $767.33 Two Arrests • Gary Wayne Bevel, age 54 of Fort Payne, was arrested for Criminal Trespass • Devin Wade Graves, age 38 of Fort Payne, was arrested on a Warrant for Outside Agency One Accident with 1 Injury • An accident occurred at Wade Gap Road NE and Gault Ave N, a sixteen year old juvenile male driving a 2017 Ford Mustang, left the roadway and overturned. The juvenile male was transported to Dekalb Regional by Dekalb Ambulance Service. June 16, 2024 Incidents • Theft of Property – Occurred at Wal-Mart, a Spinner jewelry display case and jewelry were taken, valued at $2332.15 • Theft of Property – Occurred at 2408 Kennedy Road NE, two 16’ foot trailer ramps were taken, valued at $800.00 Four Arrests • Tucker Alan Goolesby, age 24 of Henagar, was arrested for DUI • Robert Taylor Steele, age 30 of Fort Payne, was arrested for DUI • Katy Michelle Landress, age 37 of Fort Payne, was arrested for Obstructing Government Operations • Charmine Rochall McElrath, age 44 of Fort Payne, was arrested for Obstructing Government Operations, Public Intoxication, and Two Charges of Assault with Bodily Fluids Three Accidents with 1 Injury • An accident occurred at Gault Ave N and 20th Street N, Andrew Jackson Barclay, age 19 of Fort Payne, driving a 2016 Dodge Caravan, struck Deanna Fran Tolbert, age 46 of Fort Payne, driving a 2012 Toyota Rav. Tolbert was transported to Dekalb Regional by Dekalb Ambulance Service. Winkles was transported to Dekalb Regional by Dekalb Ambulance Service. June 25, 2024 Incidents • Theft of Property – Occurred at 1304 Gault Ave North Apartment 10, a Roku TV was taken, valued at $200.00 • Theft of Property – Occurred at 2000 Gault Ave N Suite D, miscellaneous items were taken, valued at $1,000.00 • Theft of Property – Occurred at 1104 Gault Ave N, a wood chair was taken, valued at $25.00 • Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle – Occurred at 3303 Bird Dog Trail NE, a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado was taken, valued at $5,000.00 No Arrests and Three Accidents with 2 Injuries • An accident occurred at Greenhill Blvd NW and I-59 NB entrance ramp, Arlene Joanne Peterson, age 89 of Fort Payne, struck Samuel Elwin Griggs, age 44 of Sand Rock, driving a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado. Griggs was transported to Dekalb Regional by Dekalb Ambulance Service. • An accident occurred at Jordan Road SW and Industrial Blvd SW, Bishop Conner Brown, age 19 of Rainsville, driving a 2016 Honda Civic left the roadway and struck a pole. Brown was transported to Dekalb Regional by Dekalb Ambulance Service.
