An idyllic and peaceful setting for memorials
Welcome East Devon Crematorium was opened on 13 April 2011 and dedicated by The Bishop of Exeter several months later. It serves East Devon, parts of West Dorset and South Somerset. The Crematorium is non-denominational and a warm welcome is extended to all, regardless of faith or belief. Our modern building with its single service hall, is set within ten acres of beautiful Devon countryside, set against a backdrop of established woodland. Our gardens feature a native mix of indigenous broad leaf trees, offering an attractive and peaceful setting for funeral services and dedicated memorials. Conveniently located just off the A30 near Whimple, please do take the opportunity to visit our developing grounds to explore the memorial options available. Should you require any help or advice, personally tailored to your needs, a member of our team will be pleased to assist you. Contents

An idyllic and peaceful setting to reflect and remember The final resting place of a loved one’s cremated remains is an extremely important and personal decision and careful consideration should be given to all options available. To help you with this process we can hold cremated remains for up to three months without charge, allowing you time to consider how you wish to remember your loved one, and ultimately what is to be the final resting place. We have a number of tranquil memorial areas within the grounds, including landscaped memorial gardens, a wildflower meadow, memorial rockery and a traditional Book of Remembrance. This brochure will guide you through the range of options available, and once you feel ready, our experienced team will be available for a memorial consultation to show you around the grounds and to discuss your needs, ensuring the memorial chosen is the right one for you and your family. A dedicated area of our grounds has been set aside for the scattering of cremated remains, but should you wish, you can also hold all or part of the cremated remains within any one of our unique memorials, alternative urns or special cremation jewellery. A remembrance memorial at East Devon Crematorium will provide a special place for family and friends to visit, reflect and remember when commemorating anniversaries, birthdays and other special times of the year.
