able tooling solutions. “Product lines that saw significant upticks in 2023 in- cluded male and female scoring rings for high-speed flexo folder-gluers, slotting and scoring heads, folding section upgrades, and Langston Saturn upgrade packages. “2023 produced notable R&D achievements for Sauer System. Precision ground female score anvils are a great example of a product that Sauer developed. “The anvil rings, with bonded polyurethane, are held to an O.D. tolerance of +/- .002”. This precision across the shaft from score line to score line has a marked effect on consistent scoring. We were looking for a way to further automate the production of our female score anvils, and in the process, configured our own proprietary machine to produce a precise diameter. They are especially helpful in achieving accuracy on the most sophisticated high-speed machines. “2023 was also a pivotal year in the development of Sauer’s infrastructure and future growth plans. Per Sauer, “We invested more in capital equipment in 2023 than any other year in our history.
