02323 Hope Is Now May_June v6

I had the honor and pleasure of speaking recently at a women’s conference with 9 other women with Target Word Prayer Ministries. They gave us the assignment of choosing a favorite flower and doing research about that flower using what we found to relate to the message we would deliver. I found this creative idea to be fun and interesting. All of the speakers did such an amazing job! I love when we can come together to encourage one another! I chose the Statice flower because I grew up in California where this plant is found throughout the area. I remember as a little girl being intrigued by its paper like texture. I wanted to share a bit of what I found through my research with all of you! Statice Easy to grow, Statice performs best in full sun in dry to medium moisture, sandy loams, and well-drained soils. Drought tolerant once established. It is not native to America. Originating from Southern Europe, Western Asia and Northern Africa. In those countries the meaning of statice when given to another as a gift is remembrance. It also has Nickname the “Everlasting Flower” because after it is harvested and dried out, it holds its color for years! Like the statice we are at our best in the fullness of the Son Jesus Christ. Each day we have the opportunity to remember Christ in our walk. Like the scripture says in (Proverbs 3:6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.)When you stay rooted in Him like the Statice it’s easy to grow and we are everlasting in Him! Psalm 1:3 he is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. Because the Statice plant stays vibrant in color even after being cut off from the root, It still has use to the people around it as decoration however, without being alive and connected to the root it looses the medicinal value. Statice is good for many medical conditions. It’s been used to treat gastrointestinal issues, laryngitis, bronchorrea, and pulmonary hemorrhage. The roots may be used as a decongestant. Statice flowers are not known to be toxic to humans, dogs, cats, or horses. God has graceful and merciful ways to refine us to be a blessing to those around us and just for the simple reason

that He loves us and wants us to live in peace. Those things that are toxic in us or around us in others, he will remove. Sometimes He helps us do this by keeping healthy Boundaries for our circle of close friends, mentors and family. This right and it is good for us. Like the statice flower having medicinal value, we all have value. There are things inside of us that are meant to bless others. When we don’t stay rooted in the river of life and connected to the roots, then we loose some of the fruit we should have for our lives. We don’t want to look pretty or look like we have it all together, look like a powerful minister or rockstar mom, wife, friend or mentor. We want to be beautiful from the root up to the fruit we bare. We don’t want to get dry and be living on a drink of water we had 3 years ago. We need to be planted in the river. When we plant ourselves in the river of the the living God everything that has withered comes to life. Everything that we touch prospers. Let all of us live in the fullness of the son Jesus Christ bearing fruit from within and not just a beauty seen on the outside. We are not decorations to be placed on a table to look at. We are daughters of the most high God. We all have a call on our lives. In the river we can be equipped to walk that out. Let us be the “Everlasting Flowers” What is your favorite flower? I would like to encourage you to prayerfully research your flower and see what God reveals!

“We don’t want to look good. We want it to be God.”
