A TECH PLAYGROUND FOR INNOVATION AT SCTE TECHEXPO25
Broadband industry trade show floors aren’t usually known for being fun and whimsical. Yet, at SCTE TechExpo25, one booth stood out with its bold, colorful backdrops, unique thematic concept and a vibrant vision behind the showcase.
The Lightbulb Moment: Conceptualizing the Broadband Evolution Journey During early brainstorming sessions, a member of Harmonic’s marketing team drew a clever comparison between operators navigating their broadband evolution and moving through the colorful world of Candy Land. Like the players in the board game, every broadband operator is at a different point in their journey -- some are focusing on making DOCSIS advancements while others are leaping forward with fiber strategies. Progress depends on each operator’s existing infrastructure, timing and strategic priorities. Mapping the Operator’s Path to Broadband Success Candy Land is a game of progression and discovery. Players move through themed zones on the game board, but the path isn’t always linear. That sense of exploration and journey sparked the idea for Harmonic’s Broadband Land booth. Each of the zones in the booth represents a phase in the broadband operator’s journey, reflecting the many paths to success — winning and retaining subscribers, achieving operational simplicity and delivering higher speeds with exceptional broadband experiences to customers. Harmonic’s Broadband Land booth translated the operators’ journey into a physical space to bring their experience to life in a fun and creative way.
Harmonic’s Broadband Land booth created a playful, nostalgic experience for SCTE TechExpo25 attendees. Inspired by the classic Candy Land® board game, Harmonic reimagined what a technology exhibit could be: a space where creativity and technology innovation come together seamlessly. REIMAGINING THE TRADE SHOW EXPERIENCE Traditionally, trade show booths can feel overly technical and uniform. Harmonic wanted to re-energize the conversation, showing how broadband innovation can be creatively translated into a memorable theme that shines a light on core technologies powering our digital lives. This mindset became the driving force for the design journey that followed.
