This program does not apply to continuing education units, which are necessary to maintain a license, registration or certification that is a requirement for your position or taken as personal preference. Refer to the Tuition Assistance Policy for additional details. Unemployment Compensation Should you separate from employment with the VOP, you may be eligible for unemployment benefits. Applications should be made through the local Employment Security Commission, where a determination of your eligibility will be made. Other Employee Benefits If you are regularly scheduled to work a minimum of 30 hours per week, you may also be eligible to elect voluntary benefits such as short-term disability, accident insurance, additional life insurance, etc., for yourself and your dependents. Consult your Human Resources Department for more information. Employees regularly scheduled to work at least 20 hours per week will be eligible for certain benefits. Courtesy Discount If you are regularly scheduled to work an average of 20 hours per week, and have completed your introductory period, you and your dependents are eligible to receive a ten percent (10%) discount on classes, programs, equipment rentals and/or facility rentals, except the Fair Barn. The employee VOP picture ID MUST be presented at the time of registration. Post registration credits are not valid. The management of the Village of Pinehurst reserves the right to terminate, change, withdraw or suspend any employee benefit plan at any time. All group health benefits are subject to design, availability and cost modification on an annual basis.
