Reports or forms shall be filled out, as applicable, and forwarded to Human Resources or Risk Management. All employees are responsible for cooperation with, and support of, safety program objectives. Employees are expected to adopt the concept that the SAFE WAY is the most efficient and only acceptable way a task is to be accomplished. • To fulfill the overall mission of safety, Village employees will: • Ensure policies and practices are developed and adopted to protect our employees, our citizens, our facilities, and our resources. • Ensure continued safety training and education programs for Village employees to maintain and improve safe work practices. • Ensure periodic safety inspections of departments and safety procedures Village-wide. • Ensure immediate corrective actions to unsafe conditions. • Evaluate accidents and incidents to determine preventability and recommend corrective action. Management Commitment Policy Statement The Village of Pinehurst places a high value on the safety of its employees. The Village of Pinehurst is committed to providing a safe workplace for all employees and has developed this program for injury prevention to involve management, supervisor, and employees in identifying and eliminating hazards that may develop during the workday. It is the basic safety policy of the Village that no task is so important that an employee must violate a safety rule or take an unnecessary risk of injury or illness to get the job done. Employees are required to comply with all Village safety rules and are encouraged to actively participate in identifying ways to make the Village a safer place to work. Supervisors are responsible for the safety of their employees and as a part of their daily duties, must remain vigilant in identifying and correcting hazards and unsafe practices in the workplace.

Management will do its part by: • Promoting safety committee participation.

• Devoting resources for safety and health education and training. • Reviewing and updating workplace safety rules as needed. • Enforcing standards and practices that are established for the prevention of injuries and accidents.
