the cross and, using the letters in the word “ SAVED,” complete the follow ing words: “LOST. WEAK, EVIL, SINNER, DEAD.” Color the back of the "I” black.) LESSON: Did you ever see some one who had a black eye? I have one this morning. However, it is a capital “I” and not an eye with which I see. It is black to remind us of sin. On the other side of this “I” we find certain words which describe an un saved person: “LOST, WEAK, EVIL, SINNER, DEAD.” Humanly speaking, there is no hope for such a one, but I read on this red cross, “Christ Jesus came info the world to save sinners” (1 Tim. 1:15). Notice what happens when the “I” comes to the cross. (Fold the halves over the “I.” The blood of Christ covers the sinner, and we now read “ SAVED.” We should rejoice today that Jesus Christ thus saves all who come to Him for salvation. 2 ; L uke 1, 2 Babe to the temple. There they met Simeon, a member of the small group that was “waiting for the consolation of Israel” ; that is, expecting the ful fillment of the promises concerning the coming of Messiah. Simeon was “just [righteous] and devout,” a man with a living faith. He was Spirit-anointed, Spirit-enlightened, and Spirit-led. And that is what every Christian should be, and can be, by walking justly and devoutly, and in true faith, with the Lord. When the parents brought Jesus into the temple, Simeon at once recognized the Babe, declaring that Jesus was the salvation of God, sent as a light to the Gentiles, and the glory of Israel. Salvation was no afterthought with God; it had been prepared. It had been provided, not for any particular class or race- of people, but for all peoples (cf. Gal. 3:13; 1 Pet. 2:24; Act;s 10:43; John 3:16; 10:9; Isa. 55:1). The Christian’s Opportunity in Latin-American Relations PROPAGANDA THAT PAYS Rev. A. B.
