It reminds me of a very important word that has to do with our doing ex actly' as we are told. Can you guess the word I have in mind? “Is it ‘obedience’ ?” >You are right, Charles. And when we think of obedience, we remember Christ, the One who was always obe dient to His Father. We read in Luke 3:22 that God the heavenly Father said of Christ, “Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.” Did you realize that obedience often costs much? It cost the Lord Jesus Christ His life on the cross. This “O” is made up of white and red. The white speaks to us of the purity of Christ, arid the red tells of His blood which was shed on the cross for us. We will cut the “O” in two with these scissors. See, the “O” is made into, two separate links. The red link reaches down to the world and encircles it. We should always remem ber that because of the obedience of Christ, His blood reaches a lost world. as this was done, then Satan attempted to hinder the service, break down the assurance, and dispute the right to the office. The battle'therefore begins with the “then.” From the opened heavens and the hearing of the Father’s voice He was led by the Holy Spirit to the bleak wilderness and the hearing of Satan’s voice. The Lord Jesus Christ had the legal right to the throne; that could not be denied. He had personal right to it, and that also could not be denied. But the devil could and did dispute His moral right. As the devil questioned . the right of the first man, Adam, so he challenged the right of the Second Man, the Lord Jesus, and God accepted that latter challenge. Hence Jesus was
