ment was changed from arrows to cart ridges. On that day, God placed the dynamic power of the Holy Ghost at the disposal of .the simplest, most hum ble believer. Thus our only qualifica tion needs to be, not a strong right arm to bend the bow of the flesh, not a dominating personality to impress the mind of man, . . . but a sanctified finger to press the trigger of faith, and thus . . to release the stored up power of Pentecost.—Northcote Deck. 18. God Is in Every Tomorrow “Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself” (Matt. 6:34).

IS. Serving Him “To this end Christ died and lived’ again, that he might be Lord, of both the dead and the living” (Rom. 14:0, R .'V .). The Christian service is only indi rectly service of a cause. It is first and foremost service of a Person—a per sonal God. . . . If there is one exper ience of which all men recognize the value and beauty, it is that of possess ing and belonging to some one they love. And the whole of Christianity is summed up in and flows from the ex perience of possessing and belonging to God.—E. A. Burroughs. 14. Praising for All Things “Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Eph. 5:20). Note the amazing scope of the word. . , . When we walk with Him in the light of His Word, our lives are brought out of the shadows, out of the place of grumbling and complaining into the place of happy, trustful, praiseful rest in Him and His faithfulness. There are still just a s .many troubles, . . . but somehow our hearts are so happy in Him and our confidence in Him is so strong that praise drowns out com plaining.—George M. Blackett. 15. Our Center of Affections,. “ Set-your affection on things above, not on things on the earth” (Col. 3:2). Do not think that means we are go ing ■to live an unpractical, visionary kind of life. As Christians we have a citizenship down here . . . But we must have the solitary place, the quiet time, and the consciousness of communion with the Father, If the palm tree is seen to flourish in the desert, it is only because it has struck its roots deep in the sand and found a spring of life. —A. J. Brown. 16. Being Ukeminded “Fulfill ye my joy, that ye be like- minded, haying the same love, being of one accord, of one mind” (Phil. 2:2). We should, remember that the day is coming when we shall see eye to eye. In the meantime vie should act according to the light which the Lord has given to us already, seeking at the same time to exercise forbearance to ward those from whom we differ, re membering that we aré what we are by the grace of God. Instead of agreeing to differ, let us agree to love vone another because of Christ’s love to us. —George Muller. 17. ; Releasing the Power “Ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you; and ye shall be witnesses unto me” (Acts 1 : 8 ). At Pentecost the Christian’s arma

THEY WANTED TO DROWN HIM

This little Chinese leper boy has no parents. His father died a leper. His mother abandoned him when he was just a few years old. His other relatives kept telling him “ You are no good and ought to be dead.” They threatened to drown him as they had drowned other leper children. Without help, the time would surely have come when he would no longer have been able to play or swim, or climb trees like his playmates. But the terrible ravages of leprosy did not claim him. He had youth and his illness was still in the first faint stages. He was saved and given back life, both in body and spirit.

You can bring CHRIST and HOPE to other leper children like this.
