other speakers. There were quite a few comedians, some people who talked about what they had done for the charity, and also a band. It was so good. At the end of the evening,Mum got up on stage. I gave her a very big round of applause. She thanked all of the speakers, and she mentioned some of the more famous ones. When the spotlight was on her, she shone like a candle. She said thank you to the guests for coming and supporting her cause and she said how much money had been raised by the event. Everyone applauded when she left the stage, and then went and talked to each other. I went to speak to Mum. She was talking with some of the speakers and some guests. She shook their hands and she nodded, and smiled at them all. When she saw me, she said, ‘Excuse me for a moment,’ to the people she was talking to, and then bent down to talk to me. ‘Mummy is very busy right now,’ she said. ‘Why don’t you go and talk with Daddy for a bit?’ I wanted to protest but she had already stood up and was talking again with the people. I just wanted to tell her that I was proud of her.
