King's Business - 1967-10

PRISONER ASKS FOR MAGAZINE “ I am a prisoner o f the United States Army in the U.S. disciplinary barracks. I understand you have a fund from which free copies are sent to inmates. I f so, I would very much appreciate re ceiving the KING’S BUSINESS maga zine. I haven’t the money to subscribe. I am praying fo r your ministry and for your schools. God bless you.” G. W. C., Ft. Leavenworth, Kans. E ditor ’ s N ote : Through the interest o f Christian friends, money contributed to our King’s Business “ Free Fund” is used to send subscriptions to our maga zine to those who would not otherwise be able to subscribe. Letters continue to come from prisoners, as well as from missionaries an d native evangelists asking for this monthly help and in spiration. A t the present time, we are approximately $75.00 overdrawn in our “ Free Fund” account. We are hoping that we may be able to secure that amount, plus several hundred dollars more so that missionary subscriptions which have now had to be cancelled may be reinstated. ENJOY EDITORIALS I appreciated your editorial on J. Howard Pew, however, I regret to re port to you that Mr. Pew signed the sponsorship of the 1967 Confession. The sponsorship list was published in the New York Times. In final analysis, faithfulness to Jesus Christ is the an swer. I’m sure you would like to in form your readers o f this tragedy. Nancy Harder G IFT SUBSCRIPTION Enclosed please find a check for $3.00 for a one year’s subscription to THE KING’S BUSINESS to be sent to my sister. She was visiting in our home and so enjoyed the magazine that I want her to have it coming to her regularly. Mrs. H. C. Worthly, Albany, Oregon CHANGED LIFE Through THE KING’S BUSINESS my mother sent to me, my eyes were opened. I knew that I must make a change. I knew it would upset my whole pattern of living. How thankful I am fo r His promise in John 14:26! Mrs. W. W. Richardson, San Jose, Calif. E ditor ’ s N ote : On page 13 of the July KING’S BUSINESS, the third sentence under point one should read, “In Reve lation 1:7, 8, 11, 17 and 22:13 and 1U Jesus Christ is shown possessing this very attribute. . . .” We appreciate the understanding of the author in this in correct reference.

Being a Compassion sponsor, you can help 1 more than that . . .

Can you imagine little children like this begging to stay alive? This photo taken along a Korean wayside isn’t staged—it’s terribly real! To these little ones, an empty pan means an empty stomach with its gnawing pangs. What on earth have they done to deserve this? Compassion says they deserve something better. These are the kind o f children—orphaned, abandoned, destitute, hungry, hopeless— that join nearly 22,000 other children in one of Compassion’s 171 Homes. Here, through the generosity o f thousands of American spon

sors, they have a home, nourishing food, clean clothes, adequatemedi cal care, com peten t schooling, Bible train ing and the greatest of all—love!

A deep down feel ing o f satisfaction as you share letters, photos and other remembrances—and a big heartful o f joy! Won’t you choose one o f these little ones today? DID YOU KNOW? COMPASSION . . .
