Franklin Building Supply - August 2021

There may not be a nicer group of people in the company than our IT department. They get to see all of us at our worst moments, when we are melting down because some piece of technology is ruining our lives. The self-proclaimed goal of this IT department is to make our jobs easier. They are serious about that and they pull it off with style. This month’s profile is a tribute to the hard-working, smart, fun-loving IT group at Jaguar. THE TEAM THAT MAKES OUR JOBS EASIER

The following messages of praise and recognition were submitted by people across the company using highfive@ franklinbuildingsupply.com. They are a sampling of the high- fives submitted recently. Anyone can say thanks or good job using this easy tool. We welcome you to look for examples of great works that exemplify our keys to Making Building Easy: Wow (the amazing customer experience), Guide (smooth handoffs), Safe (watching out for each other), and Strive (continuously learning and improving). “I had some praise to pass on from a customer who built a house through the McCall store. ‘I’ve always been treated like a big fish, though my projects would suggest otherwise.’ Everyone from the sales counter to the drivers has left a great impression.” POSITIVE FEEDBACK IS POWERFUL

Adam Ingle is the department manager. He takes pride in understanding our company’s needs from a real-world standpoint. Adam started at FBS in the Boise yard and became the company’s first IT employee when he graduated from Boise State. With a smile like this, you know he’s really a Vandal. Josh Booher is another FBS veteran, having started at the Boise sales counter under Tom Mosgrove. He is Josh of all trades when it comes to his tech expertise, and he is second-in-charge at the department. Known for his great laugh, he also is in the running for best beard in the department, and he’s talented enough to be a Vandal. Mike Armstrong is a self-taught computer whiz, who started his own tech consulting business as a sideline to his first career as a long-haul trucker. Turns out he’s versatile, and we are glad he decided to make our IT department his calling. No word on what he thinks of the Vandals. Derrik Broughton (here with daughter Nora) started with FBS in the Boise yard, bringing his own tech talent with him. He rose quickly through the yard ranks, spent time on the Boise sales counter and at Caldwell’s central takeoff department before ultimately joining the IT crew. Psst: another Vandal (check the hat!) Brennan Ingle is a chip off the old block. He did his time interning, while working on his degree, and helped a ton as a part-timer in the department until he graduated from college. Now he’s a full-timer, and folks are lining up

“I’d like to give a high-five to Mary Ann, Dory, and Will at our Gooding store. Since we switched to our new accounting system, I rarely have to touch any of their POs, as they flow through the system almost perfectly. Their receiving is rock solid! They are a pleasure to work with!”

–Kathleen Putman, AP Specialist, Jaguar

“A big high-five to Jessica Vineyard. She traveled to Pocatello, from the Caldwell store, to share her high-level receiving expertise with our receiving crew. The collaborative effort was a big help to us, and I am pretty sure we had some fun along the way.”

–Danny Green and the Pocatello Receiving Team

“The Burley crew has been working on resetting some of their aisles in the store. Instead of renting a gondola mover, Lucas Albert volunteered to make a set. It makes all the difference and allows our crew to safely move gondolas in a fraction of the time it would take to move them by hand. Lucas was able to make a set for about the same cost as renting a set for a month. We can now share it around the company.”

–Bryce Luker, Regional Manager, High Desert Region

to thank him for the help. Brennan is pretty sure that his dad, Adam, can’t grow a better beard than this. He’s got Vandal blood. Kristin Hinson is our newest member of the team, and so far she’s fitting right in. After getting her start in the U.S. Navy, this team of landlubbers is no problem for Kristin. She comes with experience in point-of-sale support and is training to be our BisTrack guru. Also, she doesn’t need facial hair to be cool. Vandal meter is probable.

“High-five to Kevin LaCombe and Angel Campos who handle the bulk of granite installs. They have great attitudes and are really killing it on installs. A recent customer told me, ‘I want you to know that Kevin and Angel were respectful and did such a good job on my countertops and stayed late to finish.’”

—Rob Nilsson, Granite Manager
