Protection Team News An Insurance Check-In and Baseball Woes Plus an Upcoming Wedding!
VOL 15, ISSUE 11
Another 30 days have passed, bringing us closer to the end of this year's hurricane season. We can only hope the strong Bermuda High, which has kept many storms at bay, will remain steadfast. We all hope Mother Nature cools the warm waters around Florida, sparing us from further storms and the accompanying losses and destruction. Fortunately, there is encouraging news on the horizon. Several insurance companies are starting to withdraw policies from citizens, which is a step in the right direction. The policy count for citizens has now exceeded 1.4 million and continues to climb, a situation that is neither sustainable nor financially sound for the citizens of Florida, who would bear the burden in the event of a major catastrophe. Let's keep our fingers crossed that the situation is resolved, and we can breathe easier. By the time you read this, two significant events will have transpired. First, we are excited to announce the launch of our new division, Probate Bond Pros! Many of you are familiar with our substantial work in Probate and Guardianship bonds, and we felt it was time to formally acknowledge our expertise with its own division, name, and brand. Rest assured, we are not going anywhere — the same dedicated team, location, and phone number remain unchanged. What's new is our name, brand, website, and email addresses. Stay tuned for our official announcements! The second major event on our horizon is the wedding of our eldest daughter, Noelle. It's hard to believe the time has come so swiftly, but it's here. While Noelle and her soon-to-be husband are undoubtedly ready for this momentous step, Melanie and I aren’t as prepared. We're thrilled to witness Noelle embark on this exciting chapter of her life, but there's a tinge of sadness as she prepares to move quite a distance

away. Perhaps some of you can relate to the mix of emotions that come with such life transitions. Lastly, I must briefly express my disappointment regarding the Tampa Bay Rays. After their remarkable start and a fantastic season, they were swept in the playoffs for the second consecutive year. It's a less- than-ideal streak for the team, and it's tempting to put up "missing” posters for their bats and runs that seemed to vanish in the playoffs. The silver lining is that the team has made a long-term commitment to stay in St. Petersburg, providing hope for fans that better days are ahead. Until next month,

PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENT: THE BENEFITS OF CARRYING RENTAL PROPERTY INSURANCE Owning and renting out a property can be a lucrative investment, but it also comes with its fair share of risks. To protect yourself, carrying rental property insurance is not just a wise choice — it’s essential. Here are some of the most important reasons for landlords and property owners to carry rental property insurance: Protection Against Property Damage One of the primary reasons to carry rental property insurance is to protect your property against damage. Whether it’s caused by natural disasters or tenant negligence, damage to your property can put holes in your pockets. Rental property insurance covers the cost of repairs or replacements and provides peace of mind and financial security. Liability Coverage Accidents can happen on your rental property, and you can potentially be held liable for any injuries sustained by tenants or visitors. Liability coverage in rental property insurance can help cover legal expenses, medical bills, and compensation for injury claims.

One of the common challenges parents face with their young children is power struggles. When you ask your child to do something, and they refuse, you could spend countless hours and endless energy trying to get them to comply. Sometimes, the more persistent you are, the more resistant they can become. However, several strategies exist to avoid these arguments with your strong-willed kids. Here are two methods you can adapt to fit some common parenting scenarios. Ask critical-thinking questions. Sometimes, kids don’t understand the consequences of their actions — they lack the appropriate problem-solving skills to help them understand why you’re making certain requests. Instead of telling them to do something, ask questions that make them think critically about the situation. If they leave their toys outside before a storm, ask what could happen to them and how they could prevent that. When your child understands that leaving toys out during a storm could damage them, they will realize that putting them away is a good idea. Remember, when children are forced to do something they don’t want to do, they will focus more on being angry at you rather than learning a lesson or new habit. Encouraging them to develop their own conclusions will help them better understand the impact of their decisions. Offer choices and the opportunity to choose. Giving your children choices helps them feel like they have some freedom over what they get to do. Sometimes children refuse to comply with requests because you’ve offered them no other option. If you want your child to clean their room, don’t demand that they do it. Ask what they want to start on first — make the bed, put away their toys, or hang up clothes. Providing alternatives and allowing them to make a choice will not only get the job done faster but will also increase their confidence in knowing you value their opinion. Navigating power struggles with children can be a challenging aspect of parenting. But implementing effective strategies can make a significant difference in maintaining harmony at home. So give these methods a try and watch as your relationship with your child grows. Transform Power Struggles Into Learning Moments With These Techniques
