Chaplaincy Update

Time to Reflect At Ryde, we are a multi-faith community, and whether we share a faith tradition or not, we can all reflect this festive season. Christmas is traditionally a time of great joy and celebration of the wonders of the world.

It is also an invitation to live out our shared humanity, grounded in compassion, understanding, and at the service for others entrusted in our care at Ryde hospital. It is a time to forgive those who have wronged us, and act with kindness. As we transition from the close of 2024 into the new year, let us pause and reflect: What are we truly grateful for? What gives our lives joy and meaning? In today’s fast-paced world, where we are constantly bombarded with notifications, and news updates, it is easy to feel overwhelmed. We all need to rest and to truly be present and ready for what lies ahead, we must allow ourselves moments of self-retrospect to reset our minds and hearts. True vigilance is not about constant motion, but about finding stillness and peace. As we close this year, let us not forget the world around us, but to become more fully present and engaged with it. At Ryde Hospital, we celebrate with gratitude this season of hope, peace, and healing. We thank our dedicated staff and management for their unwavering commitment to the well-being of all our patients. Your hard work and care make a profound difference in the lives of those who come through our doors, and for that, we are deeply thankful. We acknowledge those who make chaplaincy at Ryde hospital a reality, and extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the faith leaders and volunteer chaplains at Ryde Hospital for their unwavering dedication to providing chaplaincy services and pastoral care to our patients. Your compassionate support makes a significant difference in the lives of those in need. May this Christmas bring you peace, renewal, and the promise of new beginnings. Merry Christmas to all. This year will be the last Christmas for the Ryde Hospital chapel in its current locationwe look forawrd to our new multi-faith space to be built as part of the hospital redevelopment.
