ing away everything I had worked toward to become an entrepreneur,” he says. But Jaspreet didn’t give up.
Monica rebranded her business and managed to rebuild everything her ex-husband had stolen from her. Then, she took the company farther! Keap’s tools and technol- ogy helped her boost her revenue and keep Identity Brand’s momen- tum going. “You have to nurture. You have to have multiple touchpoints,” she says. “Keap allows me to do that, so I’m always in front of my client whether I’m asleep, on vacation, or just taking well-deserved time off.” Unfortunately, Monica’s hardship wasn’t over. When her business was at an all-time high, fate dealt her family another blow: Her fa- ther was killed by a doctor’s mis- take during a routine outpatient procedure. “If automation didn’t exist, I probably would have lost every single client because I was not capable of sitting down and work- ing those moments when my dad died,” she said. Six weeks after the funeral, Monica was back to work, carry- ing the memories of her mom and dad with her. Today, a post on her Instagram reads, “She overcame everything that was meant to de- stroy her.” “I always use two words: grit and resilience. You need to stop and remember the messy middle because that’s where the lessons are birthed on how you’re going to grow — internally and in your busi- ness,” she says. EMBRACING THE UNEXPECTED: JASPREET SINGH Jaspreet Singh, the entrepre- neur behind The Minority Mindset, has made a career out of defying expectations. First, he went against the grain at home. His parents
He continued working in real es- tate, then subverted expectations again! One of his college classes on public speaking asked students to pitch business ideas. Jaspreet went into the class unprepared, and many would have expected him to fail. But instead, he took inspiration from his rainy walk to class and pitched the idea of wa- terproof socks. That off-the-cuff pitch became his first company: 5 Water Socks. Putting his natural entrepreneur- ship acumen to work, Jaspreet pre-sold 21,000 pairs of socks in 30 days. Then, he had to jump another hurdle. A marketing company he paid to help him promote 5 Water Socks stopped taking his calls. “That’s when I found out I got scammed. I lost all of that money. I had no marketing budget,” Jas- preet says. Instead of throwing in the towel on entrepreneurship at that mo- ment, Jaspreet persevered. He leaned on his Big Grit and subvert- ed expectations one more time by starting another company. This time he launched The Minority Mindset, a community dedicated to helping ordinary people who think in extraordinary ways understand finance and succeed in entre- preneurship. The company began on Instagram but soon expanded across social media. Today, Jas- preet’s Minority Mindset YouTube channel has more than 1 million subscribers. He uses Keap to stay in touch with all of them. “We use Keap, and what that allows us to do now is pull people from YouTube and Instagram onto our email list, onto our newsletter,” he says.
immigrated from India and started their lives in the U.S. with $100 in their pocket, so they encouraged him to become a doctor. But then, his father gave Jaspreet a copy of “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” by Robert Kiyosaki, and he discovered the magic of real estate. At first, Jaspreet tried to do both. He got as far as taking his MCAT exam to become a doctor, but the very next day, he closed his first real estate deal on a 1,000-square- foot condo he flipped and rent- ed out for $600 per month. The success felt amazing! After closing that deal, he knew in his gut that entrepreneurship was the right move for him. Telling his family was another story. “It was kind of like all hell broke loose in my house. I had my un- cles, my aunts, my extended family members calling me from India saying, ‘Jaspreet, is something wrong? Why don’t you want to be a doctor? You said you wanted to be a doctor your whole life!’ And all of a sudden, I was throwing away all of the security, I was throw- ing away my future, I was throw-
