Section Two
Regions
Introduction Regional Development Australia (RDA) is the Commonwealth’s approach to regional development. RDA Western Australia (RDAWA) this includes nine regional offices, including the Perth capital region. Each RDAWA office delivers regional services on behalf of the Commonwealth. The geographies of the RDA regions are slightly different from the geographies served by WA’s Regional Development Commissions – Mid West- Gascoyne is a single Commonwealth region and Perth is also a part of the regional network. The sections that follow set out priority investment opportunities for each RDA region, except Perth. These opportunities are organised in terms of the economic development themes identified in Section 1. The themes represented in each regional section vary according to the opportunities identified by industry and government during consultation. They represent the understanding of the priorities and opportunities in each region at the time of publication. Stage 2 of this process will develop an RDAWA web portal to incorporate the opportunities identified in this document. This portal will be updated regularly to ensure the information remains current and new opportunities are added as they emerge.
The goal of this and subsequent work is to enable industry and government to develop an overview of the opportunities available and useful contacts for more detailed enquiries. The inclusion of projects in this document is not exhaustive, nor does it represent the degree of due diligence necessary for an informed investment decision. RDAWA encourages government and industry investors to independently confirm the details of each opportunity by contacting proponents directly.
