Peel Business Park One significant area of opportunity for investors is intensive food production, with Australian produce being recognised in the marketplace both nationally and internationally for its safety and high-quality produce. This comparative advantage, coupled with the opportunity to actively intervene in addressing the region’s environmental and social challenges, makes the establishment of a food zone focusing on innovative food production a compelling opportunity for sustained investment. Additionally, the Peel Business Park is planned to be 100% renewable energy precinct employing an existing solar and battery micro-grid which can be extended as the district grows. This industrial-scale micro-grid is leading the way for microgrids across WA. There are also industrial symbiosis levers to support circular economy activities by using waste streams as inputs for production, and other industries utilising biproducts that emerge from other production process. For example, using agricultural waste or even wastewater as biomass to produce hydrogen and other products such as graphite, which can be used in battery manufacturing. Therefore the 120ha Peel Business Park is the Peel Region’s premier investment opportunity, backed by best practice services including water, power, gas and telecommunications. The Peel Business Park is located 75km south of the Perth CBD and around 38km from the location of Westport, the new port being developed at Kwinana. Peel Business Park will provide unlimited potential to forward-thinking investors and developers who want to get in on the ground floor of the region’s development. Activities and precincts include: • Food Innovation Precinct Western Australia • Perth and Peel Hydrogen Cluster • Peel Business Park Microgrid • Peel Food Zone • Peel Region Recycling (FOGO) • Research and Development • Manufacturing • Knowledge Economy Industries and Sectors Additionally, there is activity taking place to develop new energy opportunities. On the next page is a list of publicly listed companies pursuing interests across the Peel. Please note that this is not an exhaustive list and may not represent all of the activity for the Peel.
