OUR BIGGEST YEAR YET Record Wins, Community Impact, and an Ambitious Vision for 2025

As we turn the page into 2025, it’s incredible to reflect on what our team accomplished in 2024. It was a year of tremendous growth for our firm, doubling our impact on the lives of injured victims and their families. We achieved one of the largest settlements in Texas — a life-changing eight-figure result for a deserving family that tragically lost a loved one. But growth for us isn’t just about numbers. It’s about the people we serve and the values we uphold. At our core, we live by our GOALS values:

represents lives changed, families supported, and justice served against greedy insurance companies. We understand that real growth takes more than hard work — it takes heart. That’s why we remain dedicated to proactive communication with our clients. The No. 1 complaint about lawyers is lack of communication, and we aim to rewrite that story by staying in touch and keeping clients informed every step of the way. As we celebrate the successes of 2024 and set our sights on 2025, we want to thank everyone who’s been part of this journey. To our team, clients, and community: Your support and trust fuels everything we do. I hope 2024 was a great year for you. If it wasn’t the best year, I hope 2025 brings brighter days. Set goals, chase them down, and make this year one to remember. See you soon!

• Grit: No pain, no gain. • “Out” like MJ: Embracing the Michael Jordan mindset of excellence. • Always put the cart back: A commitment to integrity in all we do.

• Law is a team sport: Together, we’re stronger. • Stay committed: Do what you say — every time.

–Matt Aulsbrook

These values guide us in everything from handling cases to hiring, firing, and promoting. They also drive us to give back to the community we love so much. In 2024, we donated 250 backpacks for kids, helped Mission Arlington serve over 20,000 Thanksgiving meals, and spread joy to thousands of children with Christmas gifts. We matched donations during the Cooks Children’s Hospital radiothon, raising thousands for an incredible cause. We also awarded our annual Animal Rescue Scholarship to a student making a difference. To close out the year, our team celebrated in style with a well-deserved night at the Gaylord Texan Resort. Surrounded by the magic of the season, we enjoyed everything from dazzling Christmas lights to the famous ice sculptures. It was a moment to reflect on our achievements, strengthen bonds as a team, and recharge for the year ahead. Our incredible team and our clients’ trust make all of this possible. Referrals from former clients and medical providers remain the heart of our growth. Treating people right and producing extraordinary results aren’t just business strategies — they’re how we live our values every day.

A referral is the greatest compliment you could ever give us! If you know someone in need of our services, we are eager to help. Please pass this newsletter along and tell them to call 817.775.5364 or visit TheTexasLawDog.com/contact-us. Thank you!

Looking forward, we’ve set a new Big Hairy Audacious Goal (BHAG): to secure $1 billion in settlements for our injured clients. It’s a monumental goal, but every step of the way

Your kitchen knives are one of the most essential tools in your cooking arsenal, and when properly caring for them, you don’t want to cut any corners. A sharp blade is a chef’s best friend, and to ensure your knives slice and dice with ease, you must keep them in top condition. Here are three hacks to keep your knives performing their best for years. No Rust, Clean Cuts When cleaning your knives, always wash them by hand and be ready with a dry towel. Drying your blade right after washing is crucial to prevent rust and other damage. You should avoid leaving knives to soak overnight. Additionally, air drying them could cause the blade to dull faster. As a general rule, any cooking tool that needs to be sharp should never go through the dishwasher. The machine can dull and damage the blades and cause them to rust. Stay Sharp, Stay Safe Knives must be sharp to prevent mishaps such as cutting yourself accidentally. To ensure your knives are ready to cut through anything, sharpen them at least twice a year. You can learn how to do this yourself, and the best method is to use a sharpening stone, also known as a whetstone. You could also take them to a professional for a quick tuneup. When in doubt, a serrated knife is an excellent option if you don’t worry about regular maintenance. These knives stay sharper for longer. KEEP YOUR KNIVES SHARP AND RUST-FREE CUTTING EDGE CARE

Every day, we are at risk of catastrophic injuries. Everything from going for a quick jog in your neighborhood to working with heavy machinery on your job can all result in injuries that cause permanent bodily damage, changing your life forever. Unfortunately, such events happen more often than you would think — and are often preventable. According to the National Safety Council, in 2022, the U.S. experienced 63 million injuries and 227,039 preventable deaths. If you or a loved one has suffered from injuries resulting in lifelong debilitating injuries (inability to walk, work, drive, etc.), one of our experienced catastrophic injury attorneys can review the facts of your case and get you the compensation you deserve for the losses you’ve incurred. The following conditions are common injuries that qualify for a catastrophic injury case. Traumatic Brain Injury An injury resulting in the loss of proper brain functioning can drastically impact one’s life. From memory and speech to organ function and more, your overall quality of life can be significantly impacted physically and cognitively, leaving you to rely on others for your care — which can be exceptionally expensive. Loss of Limb Amputation of your arm or leg drastically limits a person’s mobility, ultimately resulting in a long road to recovery. On-the-job injuries, motorcycle or boating accidents, and even trains can cause damages requiring medical devices and even home adaptations. Spinal Cord Damage Spinal cord injuries typically result in complete or partial paralysis. The National Spinal Cord Injury Statistical Center revealed that about 18,000 new spinal cord injury cases occur each year; that’s 54 cases per 1 million people in the U.S. Filing a catastrophic injury is emotionally taxing and considerably complex. We at Aulsbrook Law Firm have the expertise and experience to help you navigate this challenging process. Contact our office for your free consultation. Slice Up Storage Right Magnetic knife holders are an excellent way to store blades when not in use, but you must pay attention to

how you hang them. You should let the spine, or the edge you don’t cut with, attach to the magnetic holder, then gently rock the knife until the edge is connected. You should not hear

a noise when the knife meets the magnets. Don’t store knives in a traditional utensil holder or upside down in a block because they could bend or become dull.

So, if you want your knives to make the cut, don’t skimp on these proper care tips. Cleaning, storing, and sharpening your blades will prepare you for any culinary adventure.

WHAT CONSTITUTES A WRONGFUL DEATH? Proving Negligence in Wrongful Death Cases

Truck Accidents Trucking accidents differ from car accidents because they involve larger, bulkier vehicles that often haul heavy loads. Trailers can tip over, spill the freight, or crash into smaller vehicles. In these accidents, passengers in smaller vehicles are more likely to suffer serious injuries or succumb to death. Medical Malpractice Patients entrust their lives to doctors and other health care professionals; therefore, they can expect a standard of care. Unfortunately, instances occur when physicians and health care workers cut corners or fail to follow proper procedures, killing their patients. Deviation from medical protocols can lead to birth injuries, misdiagnoses, surgical errors, or delayed and improper treatment. If a loved one died after a car accident or other fatal injury caused by someone else’s negligence, you deserve justice. At Aulsbrook Law Firm, let us pursue the compensation your family rightfully deserves after such a loss. Call (817) 985-4219 for your free consultation.

Being injured as a result of someone else’s carelessness is devastating enough. When a person dies from that negligence, the surviving family members want the responsible party held accountable for the loss of their loved one. This is when people take legal action and file a wrongful death claim. Understand what constitutes a wrongful death. Proving negligence is the first step in filing a wrongful death claim. Claimants must prove that the defendant had a duty of care to the deceased. Furthermore, the responsible party must also have breached their duty of care by failing or refusing to act with reasonable care, which directly caused the injuries resulting in death.

Multiple practice areas lead to wrongful death. Take a look at these common situations that lead to wrongful death cases.

Car Accidents In 2023, 41,000 people died in car accidents in the U.S. Whether from DUIs, distracted driving, or speeding, injured passengers/drivers and families of the deceased are left to struggle with medical bills or reduced income due to loss.
