YEAR SIX
SEMESTER ONE Mars Rover Incursion: To support learning in STEM and Digital Design, students took part in a VSSEC incursion where they learnt about how engineers and scientists are able to explore Mars.
YEAR SIX SRC REFLECTION Year 6 has been an unforgettable journey so far. One of the highlights was our excursion to Quantum, where we learnt about 3D printing. It was fascinating to see how technology can bring our ideas to life and sparked a lot of excitement and creativity among us. Another standout experience was "Inclusion Your Way," where we learned about embracing and celebrating people's differences. It was eye - opening and has made us more appreciative of the diverse community we’re part of at The Lakes. Our final 5/6 camp was amazing. - Jacob and Selena
Five Mile Creek Projects: For our Economics unit in Inquiry students planned, designed and created theme parks called ‘Five Mile Creek’.
Social Enterprise Event: As part of Digital Design and to support learning in Inquiry, students worked in teams to develop a product or service to sell to peers from Prep to Year 6. The event was a huge success with Primary children spending dojo points and learning about Zoos Victoria Campaigns in the process.
Agency & Engagement Challenge: Students enthusiastically put their creativity and teamwork to the test with a problem solving challenge. Student Leadership Conference: Year 6 students in our Primary Leadership team were able to go to the Melbourne Youth Leadership Conference in the city.
