House Athletics Carnival
HOUSE CAPTAINS
PRIMARY REFLECTION The Lakes South Morang College competed in their whole - school Athletics Carnival in Term 1 this year. As Primary House Captains, we can say that it was one of the highlights of the school year. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this was going to be a special day. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement, and it was fantastic to see everyone dressed up in their house colours - even the teachers! It really felt like a school - wide celebration, with everyone fully embracing the school spirit. The day was perfect — bright and sunny. There were colourful banners, face paint, and lots of cheering from students and teachers. It was incredible to see how everyone came together, regardless of whether they were competing or cheering from the sidelines. Athletics Day was full of our College Value of Teamwork. Students were cheering for their friends and classmates, celebrating every victory and encouraging everyone. It wasn’t just about winning or losing; it was about participating and supporting one another. It reminded us all of what it means to be part of a team and to work together towards our goals. Overall, the Athletics Carnival was a fantastic reminder of how much fun and unity can come from embracing our school spirit. Seeing everyone, from students to teachers, get involved and show their support made the day unforgettable. It truly highlighted how our College Values come alive in our activities, making us all proud to be part of such a vibrant and supportive community at The Lakes.
SECONDARY REFLECTION What a day Athletics Carnival was! It was a really nice sunny day, and it was great to see so many students from both Primary and Secondary participating in at least one sport. The Year 12’s dressed up in great costumes, shout out to Izak F who was best dressed. The highlight of the day was the whole - school chant. Everyone got involved and it is a great tradition that should continue every year. The Secondary Campus Leaders, plus a few other student volunteers assisted Primary teachers with the Prep - Year 3 novelty events. All the students had heaps of fun, the most popular activity was the egg and spoon race and the handball. We had a really good time running those events. Although it was close, Beachley won the cup. We had a great day helping run the event and we hope that everyone enjoyed themselves.
