2024 was an exciting and action - packed time for our College’s Secondary interschool sports program, with several teams competing throughout the year. The enthusiasm and dedication from students and staff alike led to a successful year, filled with growth, achievement, and memorable moments. Our Year 7 basketball teams had a strong showing in their first interschool basketball competition. Both teams demonstrated excellent progress throughout the day, improving their communication and on - court strategies with every game. Their commitment to training and learning the game was evident in every game. While they faced tough competition, their dedication to teamwork and sportsmanship was commendable. A huge Thank you to Ben and Havey for their coaching. The Year 8 basketball teams also took to the court with enthusiasm. Both teams had some thrilling matches, displaying impressive ball handling, defensive plays, and shooting skills. Both teams demonstrated significant development in their strategies and on - court chemistry, making for an exciting day. While they faced stiff competition, both teams remained motivated and optimistic, making notable improvements throughout the day. At the intermediate level, our basketball teams brought experience and determination as they battled it out in their respective competitions. Their ability to adapt to different opponents, along with strong leadership on the court, helped them all achieve some success as a team. Both teams embraced every challenge, learning valuable lessons and improving their game. Their sportsmanship, resilience, and determination was commendable.

This year, we also saw our students participate in the Regional Athletics Carnival, with several athletes competing in both track and field events. Our students displayed impressive talent, whilst competing in difficult weather conditions. A special highlight was our relay teams, with both earning podium finishes, showcasing not only their speed but also their teamwork and coordination. In individual events, we had standout performances by Charlotte and Alexia who both placed in medal positions. Charlotte also qualified for the State Championships, which is a testament to her hard work and dedication. Finally, we are incredibly proud of our first - ever interschool gymnastics team. This new team made history for our school by competing in various disciplines. Their hard work and dedication were evident in their performances, and they laid a solid foundation for future competitions. Competing in a range of events, including floor routines, vault, bars and beam, the team showed immense dedication and talent. Their preparation and hard work were evident in their routines. It was a proud moment to see our students perform with confidence and precision, and their involvement has paved the way for further entries into gymnastics competitions at our school. From basketball to athletics to gymnastics, our students displayed perseverance, skill, and sportsmanship. The experiences gained have not only helped the teams grow but have also strengthened our College’s reputation in the interschool sporting community. We are incredibly proud of all our athletes and look forward to even greater success in future competitions.
