Graduating with Pride
YEAR TWELVE
SEMESTER ONE
YEAR TWELVE REFLECTION
International Woman’s Day Lunch: Four of our amazing young women were invited by our local State Member of Parliament the Hon Lily D’Ambrosio and Premier Jacinta Allan to attend an International Women’s Day lunch at Parliament House. Along with students from Mill Park Secondary College and Marymede College, discussions were had with these inspiring young leaders about what it means to be in a majority woman government, and how they can be change - makers in our community. These students were passionate and determined to see real change in improving women’s safety, the closing of the gender - pay gap, and having equal representation, and I have no doubt that these young leaders will continue to inspire other girls and change our community for the better.
Exams: Term 2 saw Year 12’s undertake their Semester 1 exams as well as the State - wide General Achievement Test (GAT). It was wonderful to see all students putting their hard work to the test!
As we reflect on our journey through Year 12 in 2024, we recall the moments that have shaped us, the challenges that have tested us, and the triumphs that have united us. The bonds forged in our VCE years are the ones that will last a lifetime. Whether it was late - night study sessions, cheering each other on during sporting events, or simply sharing laughter in the school courtyard, our class exemplified the true meaning of unity. We supported one another through thick and thin. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated teachers who have worked tirelessly to provide an enriching educational experience for our Year 12 students, this year and in all their years before. For the Year 12 cohort, 2024 was a year of immense pride but also deep sadness, focused drive and at the same time ambivalence about what the future may hold. Each and every graduating student has worked hard to model our Lakes Values and we look forward to seeing where the future takes them.
Food Studies: After a long couple of weeks of exams, the Year 12 Food Studies students enjoyed being back in the kitchen, making spinach and ricotta shells.
