SOLICITORS LEGAL SKILLS (SLS)

This module will fully prepare you for SQE2. The SLS helps students apply fundamental legal principles in skills-based situations. This module develops the following legal skills:

Advocacy Interviewing Attendance note taking/legal analysis Case and matter analysis Drafting Research Writing In the following practice areas:

Hard copy and online Skills Guide Access to practice area manuals and MCQs from SLK Mock SQE2 assessments Entry requirements UK undergraduate degree or equivalent experience English language qualifications (e.g. IELTS) if English isn’t your first language You should either have an exemption from SQE1, have completed a preparation course in anticipation of taking SQE1, or passed SQE1 to take this module. Credits for LLM in Legal Practice 30 at FHEQ Level 7 Course options 10-week full-time course, with an average of 30 hours of learning per week 20-week part-time course, with an average of 15 hours of learning per week Timing Courses are running multiple times a year in line with the SQE2 Assessments.

Wills and Intestacy, Probate Administration and Practice Business organisations, rules and procedures The SLS Module provides all the learning you need to prepare for the SQE2 assessment: Full access to the College’s Canvas Learning Portal and virtual community Multimedia presentations, workbook scenarios and skills activities for each unit, to access as and when you like Regular one-to-one supervision and personal tuition with expert practitioners Virtual surgeries to refresh your legal knowledge from SQE1 and build your skills and weekly ‘town halls’ run by your supervisors
