CEO MESSAGE

At OneWorld All Are Welcome

I am reminded how lucky we are to be living in the United States and how grateful we are to those who have served and are serving in our military. I have been watching the events in Afghanistan unfold, wondering about the future of those who supported our military, and the women and girls who remain in the country. Seeing the photos of the crowds of Afghans trying to escape the country, the faces of fear and despair, yet some with glimmers of hope knowing they will be able to find shelter in other countries. I have also listened to the stories of service people who are wondering, “Did my service matter?” We have so much to be grateful for living in a democratic, free country. Though we may not always like or agree with decisions, we have the right to express ourselves because of the thousands of service members that protect us every day. Our military service in Afghanistan mattered for thousands and thousands of Afghans, whose lives were changed for the better. As we carry on with our day-to-day routines, take a moment to reflect on the families in Afghanistan and our military that supported them. Let us all do what we can to continue to support those who have served our country with honor. Let us also welcome Afghanis when/as they resettle in the United States. What I know about OneWorld is that even as we continue to fight “Battle Covid,” we are ready to provide the care and support new Americans need. The skills and talent our employees give every day to help people who need it most is what awes me.

Grateful and Welcoming all, Andrea M. Skolkin
