Background: The previous evening trial enabled owners, renters, and guests to come in the early evening, use a USAPA- sanctioned ball and spread out on less-crowded courts. As Governor Newsom has not changed the current restrictions in Riverside County, the Pickleball Committee has tried to maintain the stricter protocols for player safety that were implemented in December. While trying to maintain three to four open courts during morning Open Play, the average use since the beginning of the New Year has been ten courts. In the three afternoon sessions during the New Year holiday ALL thirteen courts were in use. This past weekend (1/8-1/10) 10-13 courts were used in the morning session and our numbers continue to grow as members return from the holidays. The Pickleball Committee remains adamant about protecting player safety. This request allows owners, renters, and guests the opportunity to use our five-star facilities and feel safe in doing so. Because of the dates requested, it also allows the ORPS Board of Directors to reevaluate the trial before the February board meeting based on up-to-date COVID information at that time. Motion for Consideration: To resume the Pickleball Trial until February 15, 2021 and allow the Monarch ball to be used until 7 PM on Tuesday-Saturday then re-evaluate the trial at the February board meeting, based on up-to-date COVID
