Suitable PPE is required for all participants and staff based on the training practical setting and risk assessment. Refer to table below for guidance. Minimum arc flash PPE includes: • eye protection / safety glasses and hard hat • non-melting clothing including underwear, with long sleeves and long trousers. small parts of melting materials are acceptable, eg. elasticated waistbands, but should be reduced to the minimum possible, ideally eliminated • safety footwear with non-melting materials, acceptable exceptions are the sole and shoelaces • any tasks-specific PPE such as gloves, visors, etc.
