Reverend Fr. Jacob Kuruvilla and Chev. Bibby Abraham Kadavumbhagom, Conveners of the Felicitation Publication for the Ordination of the Catholicos-Designate Greetings in Christ and Apostolic Benediction! I am in receipt of your kind letter of March 12, 2025, requesting a letter of felicitation to be published in your esteemed publication commemorating the ordination of the Catholicos-Designate, His Beatitude Joseph Mor Gregorios. I therefore add my voice to that of all the hierarchs, clergy and well-wishers who are extending their prayers and best wishes for the consecration of the new Mapherian and Malankara Metropolitan. The Catholicos-Designate is succeeding the late His Beatitude Mor Baselios Thomas I of blessed memory, who served the Jacobite Syrian Christian Church for many decades. I had the happy opportunity of meeting the late Catholicos in January of 2023. It was my joy to also meet on the same occasion His Eminence Joseph Mor Gregorios, now the reigning Catholicos of the Jacobite Syrian Church in India. Metropolitan Mor Gregorios was very gracious in my reception, as I officially visited at that time our Chaldean Syrian Church of the East in Thrissur on the blessed occasion of the consecration of our new metropolitan for the archdiocese, His Beatitude Mar Awgin Kuriakose. Furthermore, it was a further joy for me to be present personally at the liturgy at the liturgy of consecration of the new Catholicos, held in Atschanah, Lebanon, at the invita- tion of our beloved brother in Christ, His Holiness Mor Ignatius Aphrem II Karim, Patri- arch of Antioch. Therefore, I congratulate His Holiness and all the metropolitans, clergy and faithful of the Syriac Orthodox Church across the globe, and particularly the faithful in India, on this happy occasion. May the Lord strengthen the new Catholicos with His divine grace as he embarks upon this exalted ministry for the greater glory of God and for the spiritual good of his flock. The grace of Maran Esho Mshekha, the love of God the Father and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all; Amen.
