I am extremely happy to learn about the ascension of His Eminence Joseph Mor Gregorios Metropolitan as the Catholicos of the Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church. This is a fitting tribute bestowed upon him by the Patriarch of Antioch and All the East for the yeoman service rendered by him to the Jacobite Syrian Church. For me this is not only a solemn occasion but also a particularly delightful one, as His eminence is a close friend for a long time. I wish him all success in all his endeavours as Catholicos and am sure that he would be able to discharge his duties to the utmost joy and satisfaction of the Church he shepherds.
