Over the course of two decades, Underground Resistance has reconceived electronic dance music into classic works of soulful science fiction. UR is widely considered the most musically influential outfit to emerge from the Detroit techno scene that continues to release music embraced by DJs and fans around the world. The Detroit record label of the same name is made up of a mysterious collective of producers, DJs, scholars, visual artists, and musicians who work collaboratively under various names to draw focus to the group rather than the individual.
