After COVID-19 outbreak, the African Union in collaboration with UNDP and AfriLabs worked together to implement the first African business simulation that seeks to help Micro/Small/Medium Enterprises MSMEs to overcome the current COVID-19 challenges and the lockdown. More than 400 participants and 10 different partners have been involved in building and participating in the simulation in 2020 from 5 different countries: Cameroon, Egypt, Sudan Senegal, and Zimbabwe.

• Afrilabs Capacity Building Programme (ACBP), A 2m euro, 36-month intensive capacity building program, being implemented thanks to Agence Frarn:;aise de Developpement (AFD)'s support through the Digital Africa seed fund. • The programme aims to strengthen hubs so that they can attract investments and run local and regional impact-driven programs that will support entrepreneurs and startups and contribute to growing the African innovation ecosystem.

Smart Cities Innovation Programme

31 smart city innovators from across Africa were selected for the programme, culled from over 300 applications. 54 participants from the 31 targeted startups were trained in a 5-day virtual bootcamp by 10 experienced experts with the participation of 4 partner organisations (AWS, Siemens, Angaza Capital and Finca Ventures). 31 startups to be matched with seasoned mentors from within the Afrilabs network and other partner organisations.

50,000 Women-led enterprises across 5 African countries are enabled via training, mentoring and capacity-building sessions. Women mentoring networks each in 1 0 African countries will provide strong mentorship and peer-to-peer support amongst female entrepreneurs in Africa.
Rev U p Women is an enterprise development intervention for early-stage women-led African startups and SMEs. It is designed to accelerate female-led businesses into profitable & sustainable ventures that can stimulate the creation of j obs on the continent. At the end of the pilot stage, 500 women business owners would have received capacity-building training and mentoring while 1 0 women business owners will be funded with 1 0 , 000 dollars grant each through the Catalytic Africa matching fund to grow their businesses.
