• Identify and plan these projects in conjunction with the Estates and Operations Director within the wider Operational Strategic Plan. Support the Estates and Operations Director on larger projects. 6 Procurement (10%) • Source and engage suitable sub-contractors up to delegated authority limits, in line with the College Procurement Guidelines. • Responsible for cost-effective purchasing including obtaining quotations for materials and services, ordering materials and services and querying invoices. 7 Budget Management (10%) • Within delegated authority manage the budget for maintenance, including staff costs and projects. • Provide information to the Estates and Operations Director to assist with the preparation of budgets and with long term financial planning and capital expenditure projects. 8 Health and Safety (10%) • Working closely with the Head of Safety, ensure the College’s estate is maintained in compliance with health and safety regulations and best practise.
• Ensure the activities of the Maintenance Department and of contractors are compliant with health and safety legislation and College policy, seeking advice from the Head of Safety where appropriate. • Maintain COSHH and risk assessments register, statutory inspections, drawings, and certification and other relevant compliance documentation, with guidance and input from the Head of Safety.
9 Any other duties that may from time to time be required .
Working Conditions Office based, but will also be expected to visit sites / locations which present a risk to the individuals’ safety. Follows documented processes to reduce risks to self or others. Physical Requirements Short periods of physically strenuous activity where there is no method, tool or adjustment that would reduce the frequency, or duration of the task (lifting, carrying, working in constrained spaces) Sensory Requirements Uses tools/ equipment requiring the use of dexterity and/ or precision in order to complete a specific task
