The children are given the opportunity to develop their ability to participate in individual, pairs and group work effectively. All pupils learn to understand the importance of fair play, abiding by the rules and how to conduct themselves in competitive situations. From Years 3 to 6 we aim to give the pupils an opportunity to represent the school in competitive fixtures.

In Rugby Club, pupils will experience in depth coaching on team play and set pieces as well as individual techniques. Pupils will cover: ball handling and passing, decision making, tackling, defensive and attacking roles. There will be opportunities to play games in club time and those who attend Rugby Club will have plenty of opportunity to represent the school in Years 4-6, in line with the RFU continuum to rugby.

Are you interested in raft building, balloon powered race cars, exploding rockets and writing codes in invisible ink? We will explore STEM ( S cience, T echnology, E ngineering and M aths) activities in a fun and practical way. Children are naturally full of curiosity and love to investigate. We will find out how things work through exciting, highly engaging hands-on projects. In this club, we are learning by doing! There will be two Y4 STEM Clubs running this term due to high demand. Please note children are only permitted to book for one of the clubs.

Supervised Homework Club Years 3-6

Typing’s Cool! Years 3-6

Young Geographers Years 5-6

This club is for all year groups and is dedicated to one hour of quiet study, supervised by members of staff. Pupils must ensure they have sufficient work for the whole period and remember to bring their reading book. Pupils may not be collected from Homework Club until 5.00pm. If you have applied for Homework Club you MUST attend. As there is no homework set in school on a Wednesday, we will not be offering homework club on this day.

Typing’s Cool aims to teach pupils how to touch type 25 – 40 words per minute with 95% accuracy. By using all ten fingers and thumbs, rather than pecking at a keyboard with two fingers, pupils can learn to type four to five times faster. Beginners, improvers and advanced touch typists will be given personalised coaching and support. For pupils the fun is in dodging asteroids, zapping aliens and other app type challenges. There is an additional charge of £135.00 for the term, payable in advance.

Young Geographers club aims to foster an interest in Geographical issues in Britain and around the world. We will be looking at Geographical issues in the news, environmental issues and twenty first century challenges such as climate change, population growth and sustainability. We have also developed links with the Royal Geographical Society, hold debates, invite guest speakers and organise special events. Pupils also have the opportunity of entering ‘Young Geographer of the Year’.
