This club is for pupils looking to apply to for an 11+ Art Scholarship to the College. In this club, they will cover a range of different Art techniques and Art methods. Pupils will be expected to complete a 1 hour homework alongside their club work. This will ensure they have a wide range of work complete for their portfolio and that they have the commitment needed to be an art scholar.
Offering the chance for your child to learn the Art of Ballet, pupils who join this activity work together as a group throughout the year. Children will need to provide ballet shoes for this activity. This club will run for the whole term for all years.
Basketball Club offers the opportunity for pupils to learn the basic skills of basketball, dribbling, shooting and passing. The pupils will learn how to play a basketball game and develop techniques for attack and defence.
Cello Ensemble Years 3-6
Chess Years 3-4
Cello ensemble is open to pupils in Years 3 – 6 who learn the Cello. The main aim of this ensemble is for the children to appreciate the enormous fun to be had making music with others. Children learn the skills needed to play in a musical group as well as to develop confidence and technique. The group perform in assemblies and concerts throughout the year.
Extra-curricular chess at St George’s Junior School follows International Master Mike Basman’s chess course which is used in over 70 schools throughout Surrey. Each session members have some tuition followed by a tournament match. There will be two Y3 and Y4 Chess Clubs running this term due to high demand (one Year 4 club after school). Please note children are only permitted to book for one of the clubs.
