Art Club involves a variety of art and craft activities. The children will experiment using different mediums such as pastels, paints, collage and clay to create their own designs.

Authorfy is an exciting creative writing club where children will be set writing challenges linked to books by new and bestselling children’s authors. It is a chance for children to write freely, improve their writing skills without realising they are learning and there will also be a book prize up for grabs!

A fun and exciting rhythmic activity, the basic steps of tap are taught with a view to a final performance at the Dance Showcase. Children will need to provide black tap shoes for this activity.

Cake Decorating Club Year 5

This group is aimed at pupils who have started learning an orchestral string instrument (beginner up to Grade 1). The focus of the sessions to develop musicianship skills and musical awareness in a musical ensemble setting. They will rehearse once a week and perform in a number of concerts throughout the school year. The music is all chosen to suit the abilities of the players in the group and can be adapted if need be. For most of the players, this is their first experience of music-making with others in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

Woodwind Ensemble is open to all pupils who play a woodwind instrument. The club is run by one of our VMTs. The music is chosen to suit the abilities of the players in the group and can be adapted if need be. They will have a number of performance opportunities throughout the year.

Bookbug is a fun club set around both Fiction and Non-Fiction books. Every week is different and ranges from making a guitar, Willy Wonka Chocolate bars, Wooden Spoon Characters, Book Worm Bunting and Gingerbread Houses! No two weeks are the same and the children love attending as we make books come alive!

The children will be taught various cake decorating techniques such as piping, crimping and model making, as well as learning how to roll out and cover a cake in icing. Over half term they will be encouraged to create a design and make a Christmas cake which they will then decorate during the club in the weeks running up to Christmas. At the end of the term the cakes will be judged. Children will be required to purchase their own ingredients and icing materials for this club.
