Wild Nature Club Years 5-6

In Wild Nature Club, the children will be completing activities that both help nature and experience nature, in order to work towards earning a School Bronze Award in the RSPB’s School Wild Challenge.

Come and experience the magic of stop-motion animation. Learn how to animate any object from a toy to a tea towel. Using simple software you will write, produce direct and maybe even star in your very own short movie. Hollywood next stop!

Supervised Homework Club Years 3-6

Typing’s Cool! Years 3-6

Young Geographers Years 5-6

This club is for all year groups and is dedicated to one hour of quiet study, supervised by members of staff. Pupils must ensure they have sufficient work for the whole period and remember to bring their reading book. Pupils may not be collected from Homework Club until 5.00pm. If you have applied for Homework Club you MUST attend. As there is no homework set in school on a Wednesday, we will not be offering homework club on this day.

Typing’s Cool aims to teach pupils how to touch type 25 – 40 words per minute with 95% accuracy. By using all ten fingers and thumbs, rather than pecking at a keyboard with two fingers, pupils can learn to type four to five times faster. Beginners, improvers and advanced touch typists will be given personalised coaching and support. For pupils the fun is in dodging asteroids, zapping aliens and other app type challenges. There is an additional charge of £135.00 for the term, payable in advance.

Young Geographers club aims to foster an interest in Geographical issues in Britain and around the world. We will be looking at Geographical issues in the news, environmental issues and twenty first century challenges such as climate change, population growth and sustainability. We have also developed links with the Royal Geographical Society, hold debates, invite guest speakers and organise special events. Pupils also have the opportunity of entering ‘Young Geographer of the Year’.
