Eastbourne, Hastings & Brighton Day 1 Following collection from home, join the coach for a leisurely drive to East Sussex arriving late afternoon at the Best Western York House Hotel for our four-night dinner, bed and breakfast stay. Day 2 We start the day with an excursion to visit the pretty down land village of Alfriston. After our stop, we continue through the Sussex Countryside, passing near Lewes before we arrive in Brighton. Spend the rest of the day in Regency Brighton, renowned for its quirky shops in the famous ‘Lanes’ and cosmopolitan outlook. On our return journey to Eastbourne, we follow the South Coast’s beaches and cli4s with breath taking views over the sea. We pass through Newhaven and Beachy Head Lighthouse as we return to the hotel. Day 3 Today is a free day in Eastbourne. One of England’s best loved seaside resorts, Eastbourne has a leisurely atmosphere with its elegant seafront terraces, level promenades and immaculate gardens. This vibrant and cosmopolitan city has undergone enormous regeneration over the past decade or so, its traditional attractions like the fairy tale castle are now complemented by the iconic Millennium Stadium. Alongside the high street shops and department stores there is a selection of lovely Victorian arcades containing a wide array of specialist shops and designer boutiques. Day 3 After a leisurely breakfast we make our way through the Valleys to the little village of Pant and enjoy a ride on the Brecon Mountain Railway, one of the Great Little Trains of Wales. Afterwards we make our way to Brecon for a short break with chance to enjoy a drink and bite to eat before we return via the Brecon Beacons National Park to Cardi4. Day 4 This morning we visit the Royal Mint which puts 1000 years of history into combining the finest craftsmanship with modern techniques to make coins and medals for over 60 countries. See how the coins in your purse or wallet are made, a fascinating visit. Later we leave for a short ride to Cardi4 Bay and you can see first-hand the exciting new developments taking shape. There is plenty of opportunity to explore and relax with a drink and enjoy the views over the bay. Day 5 After breakfast we leave and begin our journey home.

Day 3 Today we visit Dundee and the Discovery point which is a world class visitor attraction centred around Captain Scott of the Antarctic’s Dundee built ship RSS Discovery. Later we return to Pitlochry for some time at leisure before an early evening meal. After we visit the Enchanted Forest, with dazzling visuals and innovative design set against an original music score explore the stunning autumn woodland setting of Faskally Wood, it is quite simply, out of this world. Day 4 After breakfast we head to Falkirk and take a ride on the Falkirk wheel. We then make our way to The Helix where we have time to buy some lunch before the Kelpies Experience Tour. See the world's largest equine sculptures up close, and even go inside to marvel at the complexity and the engineering which created these fantastic pieces of art. Day 5 Today we make our way to Perth where we visit The Black Watch Museum which includes Uniforms, fine paintings, medals, photographs, diaries, weapons and military equipment, together with film. Following this visit we have the afternoon at leisure in Perth. Day 6 This morning we depart our hotel after an early breakfast and return to East Anglia arriving by mid to late evening. We take a break at the visitor centre before continuing to Bellingham and Hexham, dominated by the Abbey overlooking the market square. This afternoon we return along the path of Hadrian’s Wall, which stretched some 76 miles from the Tyne to the Solway. Day 3 This morning we start our first train journey of the day in Carlisle. The line follows the Cumbrian coastline through Maryport and Whitehaven, the stunning sea views stay with us to Ravenglass. Here we join the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway – L’al Ratty steam train from the coast to the foothills of England’s highest mountains. Seven miles of steam in the Lake District National Park. Day 4 We travel into the Yorkshire Dales to Kirkby Lonsdale, where we find the weekly market in full swing*. Then we travel on past the immense Ribblehead Viaduct, through charming Horton-in-Ribblesdale to Settle. In the afternoon we take in the most spectacular train journey on a main line railway in the whole of England – the famous Settle to Carlisle line. Towering viaducts, bridges, long deep tunnels, lovingly kept station gardens all help to make this one of the best loved lines in the country. We travel along the whole line through majestic scenery to Carlisle. Day 5 After breakfast we depart and make our way home. *Market day correct at time itinerary was produced.

Day 1 After collection from your home, we head to Rochester where there is lots to see and do in the historic city. Day 2 This morning we drive to Maidstone where we have time to explore the town and obtain lunch before our afternoon visit to Hever Castle, former childhood home of Anne Boleyn. The story of the Tudors at Hever is depicted in the many portraits around the castle. Day 3 Today we visit to historic Canterbury, with its famous Cathedral. The town centre is very compact and is best explored on foot or by horse drawn carriage. We have chance to obtain lunch here and this afternoon we visit Leeds Castle, set on two islands on the River Len and home to generations of Lords and Ladies for over 1000 years. We are transported through around 900 years of the castle’s history – in a sumptuous mix of period architecture, impressive interiors and family treasures. Day 4 We travel to Dover to visit the most iconic of all English fortresses. Dover Castle has commanded the gateway to the realm for nine centuries. We explore the many di4erent layers of Dover Castle’s colourful and turbulent history. Day 5 We depart after breakfast and travel to Polhill Garden Centre where we have time to explore and perhaps enjoy a light snack in their restaurant before returning.
