Many projects in the outer islands su er from poor vehicular access preventing the delivery of cement, sand and stones to potential sites. This is the challenge PLN faced in making channels for their steam power plant in the Talaud Islands, North Sulawesi. The second challenge is how to protect the panels and steel reinforcement bars from the water's high chloride, sodium and sulphate content that erodes both cement and steel. Untuk mengatasi hal itu, Prima Wall System merancang panel tersebut dengan meng- gunakan semen khusus Portland type 5 sehingga dapat menahan tekanan air dan sulphate yang dihasilkan oleh air laut. kecil dan berbobot ringan, dapat diangkut oleh 1-2 orang dan tidak memerlukan alat berat ini membuat biaya pembuatan ditekan seminimal mungkin. Tantangan lainnya dalam Proyek Talaud ini adalah terletaknya saluran di tepi laut yang dapat membuat semen tergerus dan kadar chloride dan sulphate yg tinggi yang dapat mengikis tulangan besi di dalam.
To solve this problem, PWS is using narrower prefab panels, easily manhandled by one or two men,
eliminating heavy lifting equipment, thus shipping costs are kept to a minimum. The panels use Portland Cement type 5 which resists the high sodium content making it ideal for installation near the sea.
